Sunrise Gallery, DPK and LSCAA Helds Charity Art Exhibition

SUNRISE gallery, London School Center for Autism Awareness (LSCAA) in collaboration with the Daya Pelita Kasih (DPK) School held a group charity art exhibition with the theme Heart for Austism at Sunrise Gallery, Fairmont Hotel, Level 2. The exhibition is held for the public starting from 2 August until August 28, 2019.

According to Jessica Senjaya as Director of Sunrise Art Gallery in the opening of the exhibition (1/8) said that collaborating with the Daya Pelita Kasih Foundation to exhibit art-valued paintings and the sale of paintings in this activity will be given to painters and donated to the Rumah Autis which handles children autistic children and children with special needs from underprivileged families.

“A group Charity Art Exhibition” Heart for Autism is packaged as an exhibition of 33 paintings by the hand scratches of children with special needs from the Daya Pelita Kasih Foundation. Artwork painted on canvas has artistic value as an expression of heart’s content, as a way of communicating,” she said.

Jessica Senjaya also mentined that strokes of color composition are fused in the painting, giving a unified color in the painting, giving meaning to an artistic value of the creative hands of the painter; Alfonsus Dalay, Aurelie Sari Putri Wirananda, Banu Gunottama, Basmarrahman Daulat, Bima Ariasena Adisoma, Daya Olivia Korompis, Diego Lusiter Berel, Fero Adhi Mada Sardjono, Indhy Mutiarahma, Jane Gabriela, Kiemas Rizki, Aguswira Ilyas Nurhadi, Mahadana Trayiko, Setiawan, Vera van Till and Wilson Luhur exhibited their work at this event.

Meanwhile Katharina Lita Wewengkang, founder of the DPK Foundation, said that for more than 16 years the Daya Pelita Kasih Center has been serving children, adolescents and adults with special needs with their families, communities to discover, explore and develop potential talents by giving them the opportunity to live their lives fully.

“Also organizing a Life Program that allows students to learn and grow, establish friendships and social activities in life, for this extraordinary opportunity and experience is felt in collaboration at this event,” she said.

Likewise Prita Kemal Gani, Founder & Director of LSPR explained that the event was a series of actualization of the kick off project on autism awareness initiated by LSPR, the National Brain Hospital and CT Arsa Foundation, to develop the talents of children with autism.

“The parties agreed to jointly increase social awareness for the organization of training education, consultation, therapy and talent development for people with autism, especially from underprivileged families. Children with special needs need special education and attention from parents, people around them, the community and also the government. Many children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in Indonesia do not get the therapy they need, because of the high cost of the therapy process and inadequate facilities, “said Prita Gani and LSCAA initiator.
